The finish is 22 carat goldplate, plating is very good, nice and bright and shiny.

Clock condition is very nice,highly polished!

The rotating detailed globe isworking as it should...turning just as the earth does and rotates once in 24hours and runs off the same batteries that runs the clock. The\"sun\",(globe light suspended on the moveable arm) will show daylighton the earth. It is operated by a switch on the top of the arm and is poweredby (2) 357/303 batteries.

The second hand which is in itsown clock face above the main clock is powered by one sr626sw (376/377) batteryand is brand new.

This clock is a representationof the original clock in Smithsonian which is the only one known to exist.

As a recreation of this nationaltreasure...this fascinating 19th century astrological instrument displaysvarious times in relation to the motion of the sun and earth.

The earth globe rotates onerevolution every 24 hrs. The clock itself is working and has fresh batteries(2) AA batteries located under the nameplate in the base.

There is no tarnishing.

The original has four clocks onthe back representing the 4 time zones and in this reproduction are decorativeand non-functioning.

Clock is 14 1/2\" tall and 71/2\" wide at its widest.
