What a very rare estate find this it. Picked up in New Jersey. It is an antique early 1900\'s fine French porcelain sculpture or figure. Manufactured by the Theodore Haviland Limiges porcelain factory. It is signed multiple times. On the bottom with an impressed mark. And on the back side with a bronze inset piece which is signed haviland and dated 1904. It is also signed with the sculpture on the top side of the base with L.Savine. For famous artist Leopold Savine. Very few of these were made. It is a classical art nouveau design by Savine. A nude female lady seated with a cherub or putti of what appears to be cupid with his bow case around his neck. While the woman holds his arrow behind her back. Keeping it from him as he reaches for her. The arrow in her hand is metal. It is a partially bisque (unglazed) design with the lower portion glazed in a beautiful crystalline glaze. I found only two other examples of this both sold by Christie\'s for a couple thousand. Savine died in 1934. He mostly made bronze items. It measures approx 11\" tall by 5-1/2\" by 5-1/2\". Condition is very good for its age. Her hand that holds the arrow behind her is damaged and partially repaired. There is a factory made vent hole about the size of a pen tip in between her legs. As she is partially hollow it would be put there to allow gases trapped inside to release when firing the piece in a kiln. No other chips or cracks or repairs.
