Up for sale. This listing is for a John Poole Ships Chronometer. Silvered dial face with roman numerals, brass hands,with subsidiary seconds dial and up/down gauge marked to 54both with blued hands. Marked dial face John Poole /Maker To The Admiralty / 57 Fenchurch St. London, 3842. Set in a mahogany hinged case with brass handles and escutcheon on front with brass corner escutcheons. It is missing the lid and the glass tablet has been broken and missing.Also probably had an plate on the front that is missing. There is no key, so it has not been tested. The chronometer box sets inside of an mahogany outer box that looks to be original to the piece, but may have been made for it. It is antique with hook latch for the lid and leather belt strap. It is in good condition with usual scratches in the finish from age and use. Inner chronometer box measures approx. 7\" x7\" x 7\", with the outer box measuring 12\" widest x 9-1/4\" deep x 9-1/4\" high. See photo\'s, email with any questions.
