This is a printed postcard of the Primos (incorrectly spelled Prinos inthe caption) Mill in the mining ghost town of Lakewood, Colorado. Lakewood waslocated in Boulder County near Nederland, about twenty miles west of Boulder.The Primos Mining & Milling Co. was formed in 1908 and the mill was builtin 1909. The mill concentrated tungsten ore, yielding close to $1 million inconcentrates. With the end of the tungsten boom after World War I, the mines wereforced to close in 1919. The image shows the large mill on the side of a hill.A residence is on the left at the bottom of the mill; perhaps this belonged tothe mill superintendent. Another building on the right looks like an office.I also listed another (RPPC) postcard of the mill on this evening. The mill looks complete at the time of this postcard whereas it was still under construction in the other card. The card was not mailed, but I am almost certain that it was printed around1910. It is in good to very goodcondition with some corner/edge wear consistent with its age. (see scans for condition).
