*Rare Large Yokuts Indian Mush / Feast Basket * Very Fine Weave Circa 1890s?
Price: US $710.00
Yokuts Cooking BasketWe could not find any flaw in this piece.
It is made of extremely fine woven material. Many baskets you
see are made of much broader material. This came from a private collection.
It measures 13&1/2\" across the rim and 7&1/4\" tall. There
are 14 knots per inch & 6&1/2 rows per inch.We know the diamond shapes represent rattlesnakes. We do not
know what the other design is supposed to represent. Somebody out there must know.
