Rare \'Moon Eyes\' pale gold mohair Chad Valley teddy bear. Circa 1920\'s
This rare Chad Valley teddy bear was made during the early 1920\'s
and even though he no longer has a button or label, he is recognisable
by his yellow enamel backed eyes which mark him out as a Chad Valley
\'Moon Eye\' bear. He is also a georgeous chunky little character bear
with an upturned snout and a very expressive face.He stands at stands at just 14\" tall and is five ways disc jointed with
all his joints working smoothly His mohair is a soft golden straw colour and
he has a very good coverage with just slight thinning and some small bare
areas but I would estimate he has retained a good 90% coverage overall.Ted has all the characteristics of very early Chad Valley bears with his
carded feet and vertical nose stitching topped with one horizontal stitch.
All of his original features are intact including his soft cotton paw pads
which are discoloured but in good condition with no holes or damage and
he has three claw stitches on each paw and five on each foot (one broken)He is missing a few nose stitches, the card in on foot has buckled and
his eyes have been reset but he is still in very good, sturdy condition
considering he is nearly 100 years old.This early Chad Valley moon eye teddy bear is being offered with
