Rare and unique, hard to find original wood Hubbard\'s Wire Sewed Folding Box made only by Puffer-Hubbard Mfg. Co., Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. These were used as delivery boxes and this one is stenciled Sunset-Laurel Market on both sides. I believe this is the Sunset Laurel Market located at 8025 Sunset Boulevard on the famous Sunset Strip in West Hollywood California. The \'Strip\' was at it\'s height of glamour and glitz in the 1930\'s and 1940\'s.
From what I can find, that building complex was constructed in the early 1930\'s and was home to popular Greenblatt\'s Delicatessen and Schwab\'s Drug Store. By 1946 the Sunset Laurel Market became a music shop.
The box is stamped Pat\'d June 28, 1898 and Patents Pending on both ends. It is sturdy and in very good antique condition with some expected wear. I have tried to photograph the box from all sides. A great collectible from a bygone era! It measures approximately 14\" long x 8 1/2\" wide x 12 1/2\" high to top of metal loop. Boxed weight 9 pounds. Please pay through PayPal with three days from sale end.
** You can see a picture of the Sunset Laurel Market from the 1930\'s by searching 8024 Sunset Blvd Graham. It is shown in the last photograph on the page.
