Rare and desirable Ranger Robot by Daiya in excellent and way above average condition. Made in Japan in the 1960\'s. Was also sold as Cragstan Ranger Robot (different box). Unique see-thru body, battery operated. Stands 10.5\" high, antenna pulls up to around 12\". Works perfectly, walks along then stops, raises his arms four times while making a screeching sound while smoke bellows out of his mouth, he then starts walking again. The multi-colored cone in his head spins and lights up. You MUST use the lightest and smallest D cells (not Duracells for example) in this robot and even with those he may fall backwards due to the weight of the batteries so you must keep your hand behind him as a safety precaution. There are two hairline cracks on the inner right leg, one above each shoulder and one below battery latch on outer battery cover. The battery latch on the outer transparent cover is very delicate on these robots and while this one is still intact it won\'t take much to get it to fall off as it is just hanging on. Some clear glue could strengthen it up but I chose to leave it alone. The battery cover can still be opened without touching the latch by placing your thumb below and finger above the back part of the battery compartment and then with your other hand place your thumb below and finger above the outer cover and gently pull open the outer cover. One of the reasons this fantastic robot is so hard to find in this condition is due to them being so delicate, not one for being dropped onto the ground or any rough handling. For an unboxed example they don\'t get much better than this, but that said I had a boxed one many years ago and the condition of this one is superior to it. Great around the ears too as these often have ears that have drooped badly from a chemical reaction between the clear plastic and yellow plastic used for the ears. Postage cost is to the United States via Air Mail with tracking is $50.
