VINTAGE 1950 RARE USAF US AIR FORCE LT LIEUTENANT GENERAL OFFICER SILVER-TANS UNIFORM WITH BULLION COMMAND PILOT WINGS IDENTIFIED TO RICHARD CLARK LINDSAY USAF - ALSO FEATURED AND USED IN THE BOOK - INTO THE BLUE VOLUME II: UNIFORMS OF THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE 1947 TO PRESENT

For sale is the 1950 dated and identified US Air Force silver-tan uniform used by Lieutenant General Richard Clark Lindsey, USAF. Please note: The sale is for the general\'s uniform coat, trousers, two signed photos and original documentation papers/letters from the general authenticating the uniform. The mannequin, shirts, ties and book, Into the Blue, are NOT included in this sale. An absolutely beautiful grouping which is almost impossible to find these days. The general\'s coat was tailored made by Hamilton, has period bullion stars, command pilot wings, overseas stripes and officer \"US\" insignia made specifically for the silver-tan uniform. The uniform coat also displays a great looking eleven place ribbon bar. The tailor tag is found inside the coat along with the general\'s tailor-made initials. Inside the coat pocket is the tailor identification tag with the name of the general and the 1950 year date. The general was a large stature person and therefore the uniform is a large size. Will easily fit a large stature man today. There are no size tags present as the uniform was tailor-made but the approximate measurements are: from one arm-pit seam to the other 23 inches (46 chest); top shoulder-seam to the other is 19 inches;top shoulder-seam to the end of the sleeve is 25.5 inches; top of the collar to the end of the coat is 34 inches. The matching trousers were also tailored by Hamilton and are identified to the general and year dated with a tailor identification tag. No size is marked on the trousers but the approximate size is 38 inches for waist, with a 33 inch inseam and an extra 2.5 inches in the hem. In addition to the uniform is a signed letter from the general to the original collector describing the uniform and a small signed note from the general saying \"...here it is.\" Also included are two signed photos of the general. The uniform was used in the book Into the Blue Volume II: Uniforms of the United States Air Force 1947 to Present on pages pages 57 & 58. The book pictured IS NOT INCLUDED in this sale and shows the uniform as it was used for the publication. A note from one of the authors will accompany the uniform as to its use in the book. The overall condition of the uniform is very good and I can find nothing remarkable in regard to condition other than regular wear with age. The DOD badge pictured on the uniform in the book is NOT part of this sale. Would make an excellent addition to your collection! Please see all the photos and if you have any questions please email. Thank you!
