Rare Vintage SELMER Brass Harry James \"S\" Brace TRUMPET + Case Horn Instrument

Vintage H&A Selmer trumpet with unusual \"S\" bracing, serial #3893, made in Elkhart, Indiana. This \"S\" brace trumpet is commonly referred to as the \'Harry James\' model as it is showcased in his 1941 book, \"Trumpet Method\". Measures approx. 19 1/8\" long overall with a 4 3/4\" diameter bell. This trumpet is in used condition with scuffs, scratches, rubs, and loss to lacquered finish. Bell has an approx. 7\" long crease near the rim (see photo), and sits a bit unevenly on a table if placed bell side down. The bell also has one bb sized dent. The mouthpiece receiver has some heavy scratches and nicks, possibly from forced mouthpiece removal. One slide (at the #3 valve) has a bb sized dent. Valve keys appear to operate properly, but trumpet has not been test. The mouthpiece is missing. A Selmer case is also included and it appears to be original. Although original, the case is heavily worn with scratches and scuffs. Leather trim is partially missing, latches are stubborn. Please see photos, sold as found.
