RARE Wurlitzer Model 51 Countertop Jukebox ORIGINAL UNRESTORED 30s vintage
Price: US $3551.99

This is a 10 day sale.  I do not have a buy it now price.  The high buyer at the end of the sale will own this jukebox!

This is the elusive Wurlitzer model 51 from 1938.  This is an original unrestored survivor.  It still has both original locks with keys!

Aside from dusting off the outside of the cabinet and applying some lemon oil furniture polish to the exterior, this jukebox is just as I found it.  The cord was cut when I bought it and I\'ve never attempted to power it up.  The cord that was cut looks to be the original factory power cord, so it\'s probably been decades since anyone has plugged this machine in.

Overall the juke is in great original unrestored condition.  The original factory finish shows wear (mostly on the top) but personally I would not dare to re-finish the cabinet.  There is one small veneer chip on the top lid at the rear corner.  The sides and front of the cabinet are in great condition with the exception of the decorative horizontal  veneer strips on the curved corners.  Some of these are missing some of the veneer or are loose.  The one at the upper right came loose when I was moving the cabinet but I saved the piece that came off.  Mostly all veneer is solid, the only de-lamination I see other than the curved trim pieces is on the back door.

The jukebox is missing the coin entry and I assume that it was set up on free-play.  There is also an AC plug on the back of the mechanism (male and female) that were deleted and the wires simply friction taped together.  You can see this on the back side, lower left of the lower mech casting.

The only other thing that I can see that has been changed is the audio cable from the tone arm.  Otherwise all of the wiring and parts look totally virgin from the factory.  Everything inside is nice and dusty, the mech is covered with old dusty oil.  The entire interior of the cabinet has that untouched by human hands for 40+ years look, which is often a good thing if you want to keep a machine as original as possible.

I inspected the interior of the mech with a flashlight and did not see any damaged parts.  Again, I haven\'t powered it up but I don\'t see any reason that the jukebox wouldn\'t play with basic lubrication and service (rebuild amp, clean and oil mech etc)

I also noticed that the speaker cone has some tears and punctures, so it will most likely need to be re-coned.  There are some holes in the grill cloth as well.

Local pick-up is fine or I\'ll deliver to Chicagoland in April for no fee!  I can hold until the next show as well if you can\'t make it in April.

I can also crate and ship the Jukebox to any destination.  I have an account with DHL, DB Schenker and U-Ship.  Crating and packing will be a flat fee of $100.00  Buyer will pay actual shipping cost, the cost shown on the sale page is just an approximate estimate.

Also, I will take vintage theater audio equipment in trade!  I am always looking for old tube type theater amplifiers, speakers, horns, cabinets and other components.  If you have something, let me know.

Tomorrow night (Sunday) I\'ll be listing an original unrestored Wurlitzer model 1015 Jukebox at as well!.
