PURE ROMANCE! Genuine antique, Edwardian Deco era hat, dates from circa 1918 to 1922. The wide, striped silk Pamela brim is a mix of soft muted blue-gray-green and pale beige or toast colors, and is is liberally covered in purple silk velvet millinery violets with long green cloth stems that undulate and wrap around the entire striped silk brim. Brim is wired and the hat is fully lined in cream silk. Measures 15\" across the brim. Inside circumference is approximately 23\". A lovely antique hat for your Downton Abbey, Great Gatsby, or even a Titanic era dress up affairs. Good condition, with some age and wear to note. CONDITION is Good, with age and some flaws to note. Clean, not soiled up. Light fading of the color of the silk, but it is not blotchy or spotty and is not stained. Hat has no odors. All the flowers are there and in very good condition. None are loose or dried out, all are nice, could us e a little perking up on a few. Slightly out of shape from storage. Selling this hat AS FOUND for its rarity and style and lovely trims. Could be worn with care, but is best preserved for collections, displays, etc. Color has aged a little bit on the back of the inside/underside (facing) of the silk, but the silk there is not torn or full of holes, but has some wear (not seen when wearing the hat as it is underneath the brim). Lining is as shown, with age and some tearing, etc. The crown is smooshed a bit, but could be steamed back, and it comes back to shape when you put it on the head. There is 1 small hole on the silk crown on the tip/top, and also a small tear in the silk (shown in photo with my finger). The silk crown is very nice, not torn, but there is some wear to the edges in a few places. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOS. Has been stored with care, well nested in a box, in a smoke free home. Never saw an attic or basement. So the hat IS antique and has flaws....shows some age, but is still a beautiful hat. Again, selling this \"as found\" and \"as is\".
