Salt Lake Route Dining Car Service -- Breakfast Menu & Wine List
This Breakfast menu and wine list for the Dining Car Service of the Salt Lake Route (the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad) features a great color illustration of a steam locomotive working its way up a steep mountain grade. The front cover also contains the Salt Lake Route arrowhead emblem.
The distinctive arrowhead image also appears on the inside pages for the Breakfast A la Carte and Wine List which contain quite a varied choice of items to eat, drink and smoke.
The menu is in excellent overall condition with some slight discolorations and wear on the cover, including a corner bump; the inside pages are very clean with only a small crease at the bottom of the center fold.
Menu pages are attached to the cover by staples. The menu measures 6 by 9 inches when folded, and was printed by the Western Lithograph Co. of Los Angeles.
Although it is undated, it must have been issued before 1920 since Prohibition began at that time and this menu lists alcoholic beverages for sale.
