This is a vintage 1950\'s Garcia Spade bit with Santa Barbara Cheek design and hand engraved Sterling Silver over base metal sides and it was used by us for many years and was used on some of thegreat show horses we have raised and owned. We are located very close to where this bit originally came form.The Spade bits are the most highlysoughtafter by the collectors. This bit is even more desirable since it was made by one of the famous bit making family of ourtime and it was used on some of our World Champion Quarter Horses. Many bits on the market today have no known provenances. But we can assure you that this bit does have one and we will let the lucky buyer know about the history and the names of horses it was used on.

You can actually locate the same model ontheir 1951 sons Less and Henry took over their father\'s business in 1932, a year before their father\'s death in Elko, Nevada. In 1935 or 1936 the sons moved the business to Salinas,California and named the business \"Garcia Saddlery Company\".
We were fortunate to own and raise some of the great horses in modern western history. But they are all behind us now and we are ready to move on to the next chapter in our lives.
