This sale is fora vintage 1960’s battery operated tin lithographed Television Spaceman Robotmade in Japan by Alps with the original box and insert!This super futuristic googly eyed, flashing lights, radar dished robotis simply a true classic and art piece! Theradar dish atop head acts as the on/off switch, plastic face has great ears(hairline on right ear top left to right not very noticeable), original claw likehands, original tin chest plate and TVscreen, original feet, battery compartment door works great and is superclean! There are three versions of thistoy this is the 3rd version and is simply a fantastic art piece aswell as toy – easy to fall in love with this robot! The original box for this toy has the original price sticker - selling for merely $2.00
Back in the 1960’snot everyone could afford a TV – but maybe just maybe your dad would bring homeyour very own Robot & TV all rolled into one KICK A@$ package – and this isit!!!Perhaps one of the most collected Robots around! What happened to those old TV\'s, well this bad bad made it through it all and is ready to go HOME!
This space toy was tested on 9/13/2015 and WORKS – when activatedhis googly eyes spin in a psychedelic and hypnotic fashion while his mouthappears to move with multiple colors and he makes a mechanical sound as hewalks forward. The screen in his chestlights up and shows a Satellite Station in deep space with other UFO ships andplanets! This toy has all the featuresyou could want in an early space toy!!
The original boxfor this classic Television Spaceman Robot has killer graphics and patina – theartwork shows the greatness of this tin toy with stunning color and additional Television Robots in the background! The box has rubs to the edges, and repairs to bottom right side/edge,center left side flap from bottom to mountain on front repair. Box bottom has hole and signs or oxidation from batteries long age - could be switched with another box bottom and comes with insert!
