This is a Norwegian Krag-Bayonet M/1944, produced in Sweden. 4600 bayonets like this were produced by the Swedish company Erik Anton Berg in 1944/45 for the exiled Norwegian government. The bayonet was based on the Swedish bayonet for their Mauser rifle, but was used with the Norwegian Krag-Joergensen rifles M/1894 that were in Sweden at that time. The Norwegians were establishing so-called \"Police troops\" in Sweden at the time, actually straight infantry soldiers for possible action to liberate Norway. The bayonet and scabbard are in used condition with some wear from use. The bayonet has serial 0828 on the blade as well as the maker-mark \"E.A.B.\". The blade is used, with slight discoloration/corrosion some places (see the images). The handle is in excellent condition with most of the original finish. The scabbard is not matching (has three digits 238 on the knob) but is in excellent original condition, with only a few minor scratches from use.Overall, this is a real nice and honest, hard-to-get bayonet.
