SCARCE WORLD WAR I UNIT HISTORY BOOK - 327TH INFANTRY REGIMENT - 82ND DIVISION
Price: US $56.00
See the images. I recently acquired a nice collection of World War I unit histories that I\'ll be listing on this week. This sale is for a book titled \"THE 327TH UNDER FIRE, HISTORY OF THE 327TH INFANTRY, 82ND DIVISION IN THE GREAT WORLD WAR\".Controvich # 4554 and Dornbusch # 2249.Edited by George McIntosh Sparks, Fitzgerald, Georgia, 1919, size 5.5\" x 8\", 203 pages.
A scarce history of the regiment, which fought with the 82nd Division at St. Mihiel, the Meuse-Argonne and Lorraine, later would become a glider regiment in the second World War with the 101st Airborne Division. Contents include a detailed narrative of the unit\'s experiences during the war accompanied by numerous photographs, statistical data, copies of general orders, extensive casualty lists (this unit saw a lot of combat and the casualty roster is arranged by company and with the cause of the fatal wound), officer roster, separate officer roster of men who had left the unit, etc.An uncommon regimental, in my experience; the only copy I have had in 45+ years.Condition Good. Cover with the usual moderate edge and corner wear, general light surface soiling and spot stains as illustrated, inside front and back covers with foxing and pencil marks, otherwise pages EX with a couple dog ears, hinge cracked inside front and back cover, binding shaken but all pages holding well.
