This is one of TWO large Seeburg \"tear drop\" speakers that I will be listing tonight. Please see my other sales for the second speaker as well as other rare jukebox items.
This is a beautifully restored original Seeburg RS2-12 remote wall speaker from the 1940s. The speaker case is made of bakelite and measures 30.5\'\' tall, 17.25\'\' wide at the top and 9.25\'\' wide at the top.
I had this speaker professionally restored a few years ago by John Mullins in Franklin Ohio. John has been servicing and restoring Seeburg jukeboxes and accessories for many years and he has an eye for detail that very few restorers posses. He painstakingly matched the original Seeburg cream paint and it has just the right tint. The grill cloth was also carefully matched from an original un-faded sample. The \"treble clef\" grill was originally made from very thin steel that was chrome plated. John used the original grill as a pattern and had an identical copy laser cut from polished stainless steel, so you will never have to worry about the chrome pitting on this one. All of the blue glass mirrors were replaced as well.
The paint on the case was beautifully done and is show room automotive quality. It has a wonderful uniform gloss and simply couldn\'t be improved upon.
The speaker case was in excellent shape before restoration with no chips or cracks. The 12\'\' speaker is original to the case and still works and sounds beautiful and has a perfect original cone.
This speaker features a factory original on/off/ toggle switch and volume control on the upper right side.
Local pick-up is fine or I\'ll deliver to Chicagoland in April for no fee! I can hold until the next show as well if you can\'t make it in April.
I can also crate and ship the speraker to any destination. I have an account with DHL, DB Schenker and U-Ship. Crating and packing will be a flat fee of $75.00 Buyer will pay actual shipping cost plus $75.00 for packing and crating, the cost shown on the sale page is just an approximate estimate. Because these bakelite cases are so large and fragile I will only ship the speaker in a solid plywood crate. I\'m not cutting any corners to save on shipping costs only to have the speaker arrive broken or damaged due to rough handling.
