Be a miner, and work one of the more famous areas from the 1850's Southern Oregon Gold Rush. No reserve sale on a great gold claim.
Welcome toOOPS #1 GoldMine, ORMC#170784. This is a 20-acre unpatented(meaning you own the mineral rights to the land----NOT the land itself) mining claim on the Little Applegate River. There is water year around, and there is nice camping on the site. This site is just upstream from the two BLM Recreational Gold Sites (Tunnel Ridge and the Little Applegate). This is a great area with a lot of gold, silver and platnium. I did work this area last year, and pulled a pennyweight of gold (nice size to the pieces as well as fines)in six hours with a 2.5" dredge/highbanker. There is a LOT of bedrock in the area, either exposed or not very deep down in overburden.
The pictures taken were fromApril this year (a dryer year already).
With the nice gold, the shallow bedrock, the camping on site, the ability to work this river virtually year around, andthe safe-ness of the river in this area for children, this is a very sought after combination for a gold claim. Finding a claim like this is nearly impossible.
Dredging/highbanking up to 4" suction hose is allowed on the river.
All paperwork and fees are paid and complete for the 2013 mining claim year. Nothing is due until the 9/1/2013 deadline for filing on claim work. Once payment is complete, the paperwork will be filed to transfer the claim into your name.
The mine is about 11 miles up the Little Applegate River Road, with only about six miles of that on a really nice dirt road. Please feel free to go sample the claim prior to offerding on this claim. Go out Applegate Road from Ruch to the Little Applegate Road. Follow that all the way to a bridge. Right before the bridge on the right is the claim. Look for the mining signs with OOPS #1 on them. The location is the East 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 25, Township 39S and Range 2W.
Gold shown in picture is not from actual spot, but shows the size found last year.
