1960s plastic Space Rocket / Vehicles / Astronauts Play Set with firing / launching Rocket. This is decent example of a group of space related toys / figures that date from around the mid to late 1960s. In my title I have used the phrase ‘Play Set’ but actually I think that the items here may be from two different sets. The largest and most intricate / detailed item is a sort of launch pad for a space rocket. It is on two levels with a black launcher into which is slotted a white rocket. The launcher is spring-loaded and when you push down on the leaver to release the rocket it fires around three feet into the air. The ‘frame’ is made of brittle plastic and amazingly it looks to be complete with the three white figures still firmly glued to the floors they are on. And the little radar type devices are intact as well. I think the other smaller rocket that looks a bit like a traffic cone is probably part of this set as well.
I found all of these items together in an old (plain) box but looking at them now I think that all the other items are from a different set as the Astronaut figures and the vehicles are all in a different – smaller – pretty much HO scale. There are four vehicles – two orange and one dark green craft on caterpillar tracks, and one small moon-buggy looking thing that has a clear domed top and inside there is a man in a silver space suit driving it. And there are seven individual loose Astronauts. Also in the box when I found them – and included with the items – is a little silver thing that looks a bit like a headlight that I think has snapped off the top of one of the orange vehicles.) Other than that very small fault everything here is in lovely clean condition.

CONDITION. The majority of items that I list are between forty and sixty years old. Some are older and some may be a few years younger. I have described the condition of the item in my text but where applicable I have also ticked the \'used\' box as even where an item is \'perfect\', it is very old and logic says it must have been handled and probably used at some time over the decades!

Many of my response comments mention my good packaging and I will of course continue to meet my own standards.
