This sale is for what I believe is an Indian or SpanishAmerican war dress helmet (late 1800’s) in very good condition. The helmet’sfront plaque (see picture) has the number 2 and “EXCELSIOR” on it. I am toldthis relates the helmet to the New York National Guard. The two side emblemshave crossed rifles. There is no identification inside the helmet but it doescontain a lot of handwritten graffiti. The helmet has no deformation (seepicture) from improper storage and overall is in very nice shape. The top ofthe helmet comes with a spike; the light blue braid has areas of significantwear and abrasion. There are also areas of wear along the outside of the brim.
