During our research we have been informed it certainlydates from the mid period of the 19th century and is of a European origin.

Wonderful overall intricatecarving of the winged gargoyle with the quite stunning facial features.

Winged gargoyle with the intricate tail with ancanthus leaves.

Central oak panel for displaying a painting, mirror, photograph or similar.

Flat backed.

The carving has an overall sizeof about 17.25 x 11inches.

Max depth of about 1.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent with no major blemishes except:

a repair centrally to a wing and to the tail where it joins the central panel.
