Superb 4X5 Pacemaker Speed Graphic with f/4.7 135mm Graflex OptarThis camera came out of an estate in Palo Alto, California. I was told the owner was a dentist, which may account for the camera\'s exceptional cosmetic condition. I doubt it was used very much. The camera comes with a nice purple-lined lens cap (photo 12).The serial number is 910834, putting the manufacture about 1956 according to data originally recorded by Shutterfinger on graflex.org.I have shown the primary cosmetic issues with red arrows. The most noticeable one is a chip about 6mm wide in the grey crackle finish on an edge of the Graflok back (see the top-right arrow in photo 11). The next most noticeable things are a couple worn areas and a tiny cut in the leather on the lens bed door (see red arrows in photo 7). There are also some worn areas on the ears of the film holder door (see bottom area of photo 11). The edges of the leather on the bottom are lifting about 3mm along the sides of the two plastic rails (see photo 9). There are several areas of light wear on the flat black paint of the ground glass door (see arrows in photo 6, which is taken with lighting that emphasizes these areas).I tried all the functional tests I could think of. The between-the-lens shutter in the Optar works nicely at all speeds from 1 second to 1/500th. The coating and glass of the lens look perfect. The bellows looks new (though I assume it is original). The rangefinder appeared accurate in my quick check. The focal-plane shutter works fine, and the curtains are flexible and fully opaque. The lens bed release fires either shutter, depending on the position of the slider switch on the side of the body. I did not have a flash battery handle to check the solenoid on the lens board.Very few 60 year old Speed Graphics have survived as well as this one has. It would serve nicely in regular use or just looking good on display.Guarantee: Full money back for any reason within 30 days. I pay the return postage.Shipping: Securely packed, this camera will be over 7 pounds, and it is too big to be safely shipped in a Flat Rate box. I will send it by USPS Priority Mail to the USA or APO/FPO addresses for $25, and outside the USA for $63 by USPS International Priority Mail. For nearby destinations with lower postage, I will refund the difference. Customs may add 3 weeks or more to the shipping time. Customs fees to be paid by the buyer upon delivery.
