Description A wonderful rare English antiqueArt Nouveausolid sterling silver& leather bound playingcard/whist box in lovely condition and with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1904.Excellent quality genuine 113 year old set; consisting of a burgundy leather-bound box with a hinged lid and complete with original brass lock and working key. Decorated on the top with a superb large stylised Art Nouveau sterling silver mount, and inside it is partitioned and is complete with whist markers, game rules, playing cards, pencil etc. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms and it is direct from a private estate.

ConditionLovely condition, the burgundy leather & interior silk is in great condition and the large decorative silver mounted top has no splits or repairs, no wear holesand no nasty knocks or dents. Has a couple of tiny little losses, honestly nothing at all and virtually unnoticeable. The lid hinge works perfectly, and the original brass lock and original key are still in perfect working order. Complete with original contents as it came to me, the vintage playing cards are incomplete, but easily replaced. Beautiful box with superb stylised Art Nouveau decoration anddirect from a private estate.
