Superb ANTIQUE Solid Silver THREE PIECE TEA KETTLE SET 1905 Hallmark Sterling NR
SHEFFIELD- Superb Design & Condition - 35 troy oz- RARE

This is an absolutely superb ANTIQUE Edwardian three piece sterling silver tea kettle set with its sterling silver kettle stand and solid sterling silveroil burner which was made in Sheffield, England in 1905 by the illustrious silversmiths, James Dixon & Sons at their Cornish Place workshops. All three pieces fit neatly together and are clearly an original matched set. The kettle is oval in shape and is finished with ahinged lid and fruit wood finial and handle - all in a really stunning rococo design with gorgeous harebell swag decoration.It is not engraved to the cartouches.

The kettle (capacity of almost 1 3/4 imperial pints) is very solid and substantial and measures 8 1/4\" high to the top of handle by 8 1/4\" long and is4 7/8\" wide. The kettle stand isoval and standson four finely patterned legs that are patterned asornate hooves. It also is solid and substantial and measures 4 1/8\" high by 6 5/8\" long and 5 5/8\" wide. The oil burner is 2 1/4\" in diameter. The oil burner fits snugly into the bottom of the stand. It is again sturdy and solid with a hinged wick. Together this set weighs 1105.2 grams - over 35 1/2 troy oz.

All the pieces are in excellent with less than the usual surface scratching and NO dings or dents - just superb condition. The kettle burner and stand are each hallmarked J.D&S, crown, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),n showing thatthe setwas hallmarked in Sheffield in 1905. A really super rare ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN set - so rare to find a full matched set and even rarer in such a superb design and lovely condition after almost 110 years!!!
