Description A beautifullarge English antique early Victoriansolid sterling silver & crystal glass travelling lock-down inkwell by the silversmith Thomas Diller - (1841-1849)and with a full set of English silver hallmarks forLondon 1849. Superbquality more uncommon decorative example and a genuine 168 years old. Has its original heavy glass bottle with a decorative star cut base, with a solid silver top with hinged silver lid and is all-over decorated with attractive engraved scroll-work. Complete with its original threaded silver screw-down key and inside it has its interior leather seal with matching engraved silver securing plate. There are no added personal engraved monograms or initials, has a wonderful period engraved estate crest in the cartouche.
