Description

Have you been looking for that survivor quality 1946 Rock-Ola 1422 golden age Jukebox? This is a nice original survivor that is from a local collector who recently purchased the jukebox from a family who has had it for over 50 years. Below is a video of the machine in action:

We have had a large number of Wurlitzers, Seeburgs and other Rock-olas over the years, but we have only seen a handful of the 1422 model, especially with the catalin plastics intact. The family that owned this had it in their Milwaukee home since the 1950s.

This machine plays but will need a new cartridge and probable amp rebuild. This model was produced in 1946 and the Wurlitzer styling is evident. It plays 78s and has great styling. These are one of the most beautiful jukeboxes lit due to the multiple colors.

Condition

Considering the age, it is a survivor and a nice original machine. Look at the original plastics that are crack free, and the cabinet. Aside from a few small chips, it is outstanding. It is missing the animation on the front door (color changing wheels), the florescent bulb on top, as well as the title strip holder that clips in from the back of the machine. The amp is a Rock-Ola, but not the correct model for the jukebox and should be rebuilt. The cartridge should also be replaced.

Aside from these issues which can be easily rectified, it is an outstanding original machine. It is a phenomenal example and amazing that it has made it this far unscathed at 60 years old. Please see the photos below before offerding.

The patina is superb! The photos do a great job documenting the condition. This example would make a great addition to anyone’s rec room, bar room, collection, media room, or arcade. Best of all, there is . We will let the market determine the value on this RARE piece. Best of luck in the sale.

Additional sale Details

Because of it’s age and the above, it is sold strictly as-is-as shown. That being said, please see my response and offer with confidence. If you have not owned a jukebox before, these are not CD players, and being 50 years old can be temperamental and are not meant for continuous use all day long. These are meant for occasional use and not for continuous or bar usage.

In addition, there are scrapes and scuffs on the box as you can see in the photos. The good news is that they reproduce most of the jukebox in the event of a problem, and there are many people that repair them. The most likely time of trouble is when they are moved.
