~~~ Teddy Roosevelt ~~~ by California Teddy Bear Artist Flore Emory, is truly one of a kind. I was so taken with Flore\'s wonderful rendering of TR\'s priceless grin on this painted cloth doll, I couldn\'t resist and I acquired him direct from Flore in 2001 while visiting her, just prior to the Centennial of the Teddy Bear. I neglected having her include with him but he was she said, one of a kind.Flore was a true pioneer in teddy bear art, beginning in 1970. She created teddy bears and dolls in the classic style and her imagination and artistry was often showcased in the Teddy Bear collector\'s books by her dear friend, Linda Mullins and in teddy bear collector\'s magazines. She was open and generous with her knowledge and often after Linda Mullin\'s show in San Diego, she invited other artist friends to visit her at her wonderful 19th century styled house in Fallbrook. There, it felt as if you\'d stepped into a magic cottage filled with all sorts of antique toys, dolls and hundreds of teddy bears: antique, artist and of course, Flore\'s own amazing creations. Flore and I collected and traded many of our creations with each other over the years. I\'m at the age now, that I want to share some of the wonderful artist creations that I\'ve collected -- to pass them on to others who will care for and appreciate them. This creation of Flore Emory\'s is stellar ~ And makes a terrific Fourth of July/Patriotic display with the accompanying bears.Teddy Roosevelt has been one of my husband George\'s and my all time favorite characters; we have a large collection of authentic antiqueTR campaign buttons and copies of some of these are displayed on TR\'s serge suit front. A small original button is pinned to the ribbon of one of the two West Coast Rifle Club medals that came with the figure. A miniature jointed centennial \'Berryman Bear\' (the little bear that Teddy Roosevelt, declined to shoot on a hunting expedition) with pin produced by Little Gem Bears is displayed on TR\'s suit front. ~ Flore also provided TR with a little vintage pocket watch \'charm.\' He wears a pair of black leather Chancellors brand shoes. I have included three collectable bears. The 9\" mohair Berryman Bear was specially produced for Linda Mullin\'s Teddy Bear Company in 1998. He is fully jointed Mohair and comes with a little brass medal that says: Clifford Berryman Goodwill Ambassador Bear. The fully jointed 7\" blond Teddy is an old fashioned styled bear by Flore Emory and bears her cloth tag. The small 4 1/2\" jointed mohair bear is my own creation and appears on the cover and in: Linda Mullin\'s American Teddy Bear Artists Pattern Book printed in 1998. These creations are not toys and are intended for the adult collector,take great care with small, sharp objects around babies and small children.Occasionally I will be offering some vintage pieces from my collection by various teddy bear artists.
