QUESTIONS AND ANSWERSFROM BUYER:
Are these VINTAGE DAWN FASHIONS? ANSWERS: YES, they are all from 1970-1974 yrs of TOPPER issue.
BUYER:Are they complete outfits?? YES AND NO. All oufits are listed that are sold WITH description stating if they are complete or missing an item from the outfit.
BUYER:Are these fashions laundered prior purchase: Answer: NO. The majority of outfits are in original condition they were found in.. They wouldnt be laundered due to the issues with fabrics having delicate issues and should be handled individually when laundered.It is not recommended to throw them in the dryer. AIr drying them is best. Dawn dish soap or Sunlight does a great job or woolite can freshly wash a garment and sun drying is preferred as long as the fabric doesnt have a fading issue such as silk or satin. If an item has a white trim that has minor yellowing discoloration, it can be manually laundered without excessive fuss to make clean just with a stain removal product. I prefer not to touch them up unless they have had a tiny dot size stain or minor beige/coffee color style stain.
BUYER:Do these fit Rock FLower,MaddieMod,Tricki Mikki,Jeanne & Palitoy Pippa dolls.The standard measurement for these outfits are for 6.5 inch size dolls. Some 6 inch dolls will also nicely fit these fashions.
BUYER:Are they any odors due to storage such as musty,smokey or animal smells on the clothing? I assure my buyers they are FREE from smells,smoke or animal smells of any kind. These fashions are delicately stored and maintained in plastic for protection.BUYER:
I recelved an item that is missing a fastener,has fading fabric or has a tiny hole in it! Can it be exchanged?ANSWER: Yes, items are exchanged within 14 days of PURCHASE. I understand there are selective buyers who buy vintage doll fashions. I do my best to catch defects but I PREFER when returning an item, PLEASE have a photo showing the nature of the defect. Not all buyers demand the highest standards so as long as the fashion has some minor handling/wear, it wont be noted as flawed.
BUYER:What if I dont like the fashion or I have a duplicate in my collection?.ANSWER: NO PROBLEM! Just return the entire fashion for a complete exchange. PARTIAL outfits WONT be replaced if you are doing a fashion exchange.
BUYER:Do you have other Vintage Dawn fashions other than the ones listed??ANSWER: YES. I have others in which I will send you an inventory list of ALL the Dawn fashions I have available and how many I have in inventory incase you are interested at a later time to contact me for an additional purchase.
BUYER:What if I just dont like the fashion upclose in the group of 3 Ive selected, Can I return it anyways?ANSWER: YES AND NO.. you can return it HOWEVER, please check with me to see if I have a replacement fashion available for you to exchange for. Sometimes the fashion just doesnt look like the one in the packaging. That can happen. Just explain which one you want in exchange and send a note when returning the fashion(COMPLETE in package) within 14 days for an exchange. I will then note when I receive the fashion and acknowledge that a replacement is being sent out to you.
BUYER:I noticed after purchasing and receiving my fashions, I see there is a replaced loop where a piece of elastic was prior to fastening the outfit? Is there a reason it was replaced? ANSWER: YES. Many of the Dawn fashions had a loop(ELASTIC)closure that with time is commonly known to stretch,split and become unfunctional. For that reason. I find it necessary to replace the elastic loop with a durable type of thread/nylon elastic that will be able to attach to the button. In most cases the loop replacements are MORE durable making the fashion hold its ability to fasten. The rubber loop closures are sometimes needing to be replaced if there is one missing or broken. I have been told there are a few occassions where the rubber loop(ORIGINAL) on a garment can be rather stiff and dry causing it to break when attempting to fasten. Please note these fasteners are normally brittle due to age and MUST be lubricated with a light petroleum jelly(VASELINE) since rubber tends to rot especially when its over 45 years old.
ALSO use care by fastening these tiny fasteners with a very small crochet hook. It may be easier than using fingers which tend to stretch the existing fasteners loops causing shorter durability life.
BUYER: DO you get these items DEFECT FREE? ANSWER: NO not always. I have a supply of coordinating thread,buttons,fasteners,chains,and various items to restore the items to their original condition. No notions are used that doesnt resemble its original state of outfit when it was new.
BUYER: If I wanted to buy 6 fashions instead of 3, can I get a shipping discount together? Answer: YES, I will ask you to pay for the quantity of sets of 3 fashions you want, then the shipping will show the total times the number you purchased. AT THAT TIME, contact me so I may refund you after you have made payment for the discount on shipping costs.
What happens if the fabric is delicate such as fraying,worn seams,cracked leather fabric,or missing strands of lame in a gown??Can you replace that?? Yes, but ONLY the piece that is defective. I try to make sure you receiving something as close to its original shape as it was when new. NOT all items can handle wear so splits,tears and seams tend to weaken items with age. This is a normal condition since these items can be found stored in very dry, acidic conditions or even a child overhandling an itemwhich could have the tendancy to make them wear at any costs so only the best outfits & pieces available are chosen in these collections gathered to be sold as an individual outfit. Of course we all want never touched items, but its impossible if EVERY DAWN outfit sold were stored out of a package for several years to be have no signs of age.
