The SL-2008 is fully assembled with our upgraded software.There are 17 installed programs, from the standard Green, Yellow, andRed to random flashing. Listed are thesequence programs that are available to you at the simple setting of a switchwhich is clearly illustrated in the simple and easy to follow instructionsincluded with each controller. All controllers are available in12 volt AC/DC, 120 and 240 volts. UnitedStates and Canada are shipped 120 volts.Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe and Africa are shipped 240volts. We also stock full intersection 4 waycontrollers. For voltages other than 120volts you may add a note for SL-2007, 12 volts; SL-2009, 240 volts, tomake sure of the correct controller.
This is not a light weightcontroller, but a commercial grade unit. Voltage spike protected at the lineinput, step down transformer for better low-voltage control and reliability inthe electronic section. Heavy duty relays (10 amp), not solid-state switches,are used for positive switching control with loads up to 480 watts (4 amps) at120 volts, more than enough for incandescent, LED , light inductive loads andcontrolling two traffic lights wired in parallel. Incandescent burnouts, and inductive loadscan create reverse voltage spikes, which can damage solid-state switches. Theoutput section of the microchip in our controller is isolated from any responsevoltage which may be generated, making this controller the perfect choice foryour traffic light or railroad grade crossing signal unit. The controllerswitches the line voltage, 120 volts in, 120 volts out. Each individual light, Red, Yellow, and Greenhas its own time setting control. Change the timing on one light, withoutaffecting the other lights. A poweroutage will not change any of the operations or settings.
We receive many questions aboutbulbs being rated in watts and controller load rated in amps, and how tocalculate from one to the other. Simple arithmeticwill solve the problem. You know thevoltage you will be using, 12 volts, 120 volts or 240 volts, and the wattage isprinted on the bulb. Divide the voltageinto the wattage and the answer will be in amps. Example:120 volts divided into 65 watts is .54 amps or just over ½ amp. If you will be lighting more than one bulb inthe sequence, than add up all the wattage\'s of all the bulbs that will be ON atonce, divide by the volts for a total load in amps.
The SL-2008 is 2 ¾ by 4 ¾ x 1¼ inches and is shipped complete with 6 foot three wire power cord (no cordwith 12 volt controllers), auxiliary grounding wire, mounting hardware consistsof four plastic standoffs with self-adhesive pads, complete mountinginstructions and wiring diagrams, along with sequence switch settings, all ineasy to follow illustrated picture format.
