DESCRIPTION:
Body: This hat is comprised of two sections of a very solf 100% wool golden mustard felt. Although I have listed it as being from the 1940s - 1950s, I do believe that it is from the mid to late 1940s. The crown is high and round. It has two splits on the upper right where a 5/8\" wide strip of top stitched matching wool is inserted and stitched together on the underside. The brim is split on the right side and has a triple row of machine top stitching on the outer rim. The two are machine stitched together with the joint hidden under the sweatband. Another 5/8\" wide matching strip of wool felt is made into a bow that is hand stitched just above the brim split where the brass & foil adornment and a 14\" long feather plume are hand stitched to the hat. Brim width: 3 1/4\" at widest point in the front tapering to 1 1/8\" at the back
Adornments: One 1 1/2\" wide and 1 1/4\" high triangular brass filigree metal adornment with a silver like foil center is hand stitched on the right side

Sweatband material: Gold grosgrain ribbon

Condition: Very good. There is minor age wear on the brass & foil adornment. This hat has some minor wear and soiling commensurate to its age
