Two old antique Violins Full size
Price: CA $480.00
Job loss forces me to sell violins that I\'ve had stored away for years. These violins simply need some attention, being mainly strings. There are no repairs to do on either of these 2 violins that I can see. They seem to be set up well, but you may want to do some tinkering with them. Bridge height, sound post adjusting, etc.. Pictured you will find 2 old full size, 4/4 violins. --The violin pictured on your left throughout, is a David Techler model as the label reads. I would guess circa 1920 or earlier. It is a copy obviously and it also has hand written on the label-Made in Cresko Slovakia. Difficult to make out the exact spelling however. I\'ve tried to get a decent picture of it.There is a very old repaired crack running from the saddle up along the bass bar. Does not effect volume or tone, and is very well repaired although cosmetically you can see it. There are no other cracks or separations that I can see. There are some lines on the top of the violin that are faux (fake) crack imitations as they used to do for antiquing purposes. The tone of this violin seems to be \"woody\" sounding and rather deepish, but with a very good mature tone on all other strings. Again, it will certainly need new strings, but these old ones still work. Playability is good on the fingerboard. No peg box cracks. Pegs are older but work fine. It is a beautiful looking old violin with excellent spruce and nicely flamed maple woods used. One piece back. Fixed up the way you want it, would make a good Folk, Celtic or Bluegrass fiddle. --The violin pictured on your right is a Nicholus Amati model, as the label reads. I would guess circa 1920 or earlier. No repairs or separations on this violin. The violin consists of many faux (fake) cracks for antiquing purposes. Playability is good on the fingerboard. No peg box cracks. Pegs work fine. Tone is good, but not a loud violin. Not much tinkering to do on this violin either, but strings are definetly well used, and cheap. Good woods used with a two piece maple back. --I do not no for sure if these violins are fully blocked front and back. I suspect the David Techler might be, but not sure. There are blocks or planks in the back ends, but I do not have a mirror to check for sure for the front ends. --Violins will be well secured and protected for shipping. I ship violins the same way I would ship them to myself, securing bridge, strings and tailpiece and protected well. Sorry, no cases no bows. Shipping to U.S. will be $60.00 and shipping $50.00 within Canada only. Payment by Pay Pal only please. Good luck offerding, and please offer responsibly.
