The homerun in this group is the Australian made paratrooper patch. I have never seen another on or in any collection. Small shoulder sleevesized variation is a theatre made BEAUTY on deep blue wool with thin material backing....110% period original!!! Have had this in my collection for may years. Came out of the Bob Curran collection. Absolutely beautiful condition, striking colors. Classic thread-connected stars type embroidery found on Aussie made patches.This one may be as difficult to find as the Marine Tank Destroyer (Halt track) patch. I have had several of those, but only one of these. Have turned down numerous trade and sale offers. This should be a great additionto any collection.
Also included is a great example of the 1st Marine Div in the woven style. Some paper on back. 3rd patch is the Marine paratrooper patch for cuff, nice clean example.
If you want to own one of the rarest USMC patches from WW2 , here is the chance.Not likely to see another for a long time.
