AeroMarine Products Urethane 2 Part Pour Foam, 2# density, 1/2 gallon kit contains:

1 quart of Part A

and

1 quart of Part B

The total yield of AeroMarine Products Urethane 2 Part Pour Foam 2# Density 1/2 gallon kit is 2 cubic feet, which will float about 120 pounds of dead weight. Our liquid foam expands from 20 to 25 times its original volume. The foam pictured in the cup was the result of a pour of just a couple of ounces of liquid. AeroMarine\'spolyurethane foam is ideal for adding flotation to a canoe, kayak, jon boat, runabout, or pontoon boat. Youcan also use it as insulation and soundproofing in a motorhome and in your house. Our pour foam can be poured into the void of concrete blocks to add insulation to a building. Some people use it to stiffen floors under bathtubs or for insulating spas and ice boxes.

To use, mix a small amount of each component together and then pour into whatever cavity you need to fill. Within a few minutes, it will rise and cure. It is resistant to gasoline and oil. You can fiberglass directly over it if you like, although it\'s not at all necessary.Additional foam can be poured on top of the previous layer every half hour. The foam can be sanded, shaped, or cut easily with a hand saw after it has cured for 24 hours.

AEROMARINEPRODUCTS POUR FOAM FAQS

Q.How do I clean up foam?
A. Polyurethane foams are very messy and stick to just about everything. Here in our warehouse we use aerosol cans of carburetor cleaner to clean up. Lacquer thinner, xylene, acetone, or toluene will also work. For our hands, we use \"Fast Orange\" with Pumice. Pour foam does not come out of clothing or shoes.Q. Can I paint the liquid foam onto a vertical wall to provide auniform thickness of insulation foam?
A. No, the liquid foam will just run to the floor, then rise. Youwill have a big blob of foam on the floor.Q. How do I know how much foam I need to float my boat?
A. Great question! Get your calculator ready, you will needit. A cubic foot of foam will float about 60 pounds of \"deadweight\". The wood parts of your boat should float, so youdon\'t need flotation foam to offset that weight. The fiberglass parts ofyour boat will barely sink, so you really don\'t need much foam to offset thefiberglass- maybe one cubic foot of foam per two hundred pounds (or more) offiberglass hull. The metal parts of your boat are what you really need toaccount for. A small (4-6hp) outboard may weigh 45-55pounds. A 50hp outboard will weigh about 200 pounds. So a 16 foot fiberglass skiff with a 50 horse outboard will need about six cubicfeet of foam to keep it afloat. A 12 foot plastic kayak will only need onecubic foot. A 30 foot fiberglass sailing sloop with a diesel engine andlead keel would need about 150 cubic feet of foam. Q. Do I need to paint or fiberglass over the foam?
A. You can, but it\'s generally not necessary. If you cut into or sand the foam it does need to be sealed with an epoxy or polyester resin because you are opening the cells. Urethane foam canabsorb water, when some of the the cells are opened. Painting or glassing will seal the foam and prevent anywater absorption. The foam is not UV resistant, so it should be painted if exposed tosunlight.Q. Is the urethane foam resistant to fuel, oil, and solvents?
A. AeroMarine\'s pour foam is resistant to splashes and miscellaneous contact with gasoline and diesel fuel. A strong solvent such as acetoneor toluene wouldeventually break the foam down, but it would take a long time.Q. Can I spray the foam?
A. NO! We don\'t sell sprayable foam. Do NOT spray our foam!
