This is a XB-70 Valkyrie model desktop aircraft jet for North American Aviation Inc. It is about 16\" long by 7\" wide. The base is 4 3/4\" by 6 3/4\". It is missing little flecks off some of the decals and some of the paint on the nose is gone. The are no broken pieces but it does have a rattle sound inside that I presume is the nut that held the jet on its base. The jet sits just fine on the base even though the nut is loose.
It comes with a news article out of Time magazine from 1966 that give a little history about the jet, so I would believe the model is from that year also.
There were only two of these jets made for the US Air Force. They flew over 2000 mph. They flew from 1964-1966 the last jet had a tragic and flaming end.
