Military Mahogany is proud to announce the release of this handcrafted mahogany wood model of the USS Los Angeles submarine with display stand. There is nothing specifically to indicate it being the USS Los Angeles and it could most likely qualify for any other submarine that was also in the Los Angeles class of submarines. This model is the real deal hand carved from solid mahogany and weighing 2lbs. We have 4 other nuclear submarines just in so please be sure to check these out as well.

USS Los Angeles (SSN-688), lead ship of her class of submarines, is the fourth ship of the United States Navy to be named for Los Angeles California. The contract to build her was awarded to Newport New Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Newport News, Virginia on 8 January 1971 and her keel was laid down on 8 January 1972. She was launched on 6 April 1974 sponsored by Anne Armstrong, and commissioned on 13 November 1976 with Commander John E. Christensen in command. She hosted President Jimmy Carter and the First Lady on 27 May 1977 for an at-sea demonstration of her capabilities. As of 2007 she was the oldest submarine in active service with the United States Navy. The Navy decommissioned the USS Los Angeles on 23 January 2010, in the Port of Los Angeles, Los Angeles California her namesake city.

This is not some cheap wood toy, each model takes an average of 18 hrs to complete and is coated with 3 coats of polyurethane for a super high gloss finish. You will not find a better more detailed model than this.

US residents pay only $7.00 for each additional model ordered, International residents pay only $20.00 for each additional model ordered. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase and will do what we can to make sure your experience is as pleasant as possible. Shipping a hand carved model is no easy assignment. We open and inspect each model prior to shipping for defects, broken or missing pieces. Every model is double boxed and wrapped for added protection. While in most cases nothing is broken during shipping, occasionally it does happen. Most repairs can easily be fixed with a bit of SUPER GLUE, it dries clear and strong. If a model is damaged beyond reasonable repair a claim will be filed with UPS by us and we will either send you a replacement model or issue a refund. In the unlikely event that your model needs to be returned, please e-mail for an RMA number. After you have received an RMA number, you will receive instructions and an authorization to return the product. Once returned we will send a free replacement after inspection. Please note, the buyer is responsible for shipping back to us.
