A very fine Northwest Coast Nuu-chah-nulth Makah lidded pictorial lidded knob top basket dating from the very early 1900\'s. The basket is very finely and evenly woven from split cedar bark and dyed bear grasses to produce the complex intricate designs that encircle the periphery and lid . The design features two thunder-birds sitting on arrows and flying bird designs on the lid done in red, purple, green and yellow . Note the fine preservation of this stunning example. The basket measures 3 1/4\"diameter and stands 2 1/2\" tall tall and is in excellent condition with no splits , damages or repairs noted. This museum quality basket makes an excellent display item and a fine addition to anyone\'s collection.
