A “LOHAR”, the traditional pick/ axe / dagger of the Banochie tribe from the Khayber pass area in Afghanistan. Each men in the tribe makes and decorates its own LOHAR, and each individual has his own patterns which differs from those used by other men. Yet they all have a similar shape: A short and light axe/pick blade mounted on a long handle. It is a very efficient weapon in the experience hand. This specific example has a 6.1/4 inches blade Geometrical design and decorated with inlaid brass wires. The handle is iron . Total length is 16.3/4 inches. All in very good solid condition.
