Welcome.
This is a vintage 1920\'s, 1930\'s Buddy Lee doll advertising composition doll for a company called Swallow. I am not sure what Swallow made. This doll was once on some type of stand as there is a rectangle hole in the left bottom shoe. They only damage I see is some chips in the palm of each hand as seen in photo. The eyelashes and eyebrows are hand painted. The eyebrow and lashes on the right eye area has some paint rubbed off. There are some small black paint missing on the black shoes. Other than that, I find nothing else wrong.
He measures 12 1/2\" tall.
Buddy Lee dolls were made for H.D. Lee Garment Manufactures of Kansas City, Missouri in 1920 to 1962. Composition dolls were made up to 1948, after that they were made of plastic. This original one black shoes were dipped in black paint.
This is a really hard to find doll.
Thanks for looking.

I forgot to mention, I was not able to remove his overalls because I did not want to damage him. He has string attached arms, rest of body is one formed piece.

Other companies with Swallow name: One had to do with making airplanes in the 1920\'s, another made soft drinks, and other made railroad lanterns. The one that made side cars was during the 1920\'s. Google this company name.
