Vintage 1935 Ohio Art tin-litho child\'s toy tea set \"Pink Bird\"
Price: US $96.54
Ohio Art produced this set, called \"Pink Bird, from 1935 to 1938. It was designed by an artist whose initials were M.C.S., which are marked on the plates. The birds are actually yellow--not pink, but I guess it got its name from the pink background. All of the pieces have a pale-blue birdhouse, yellow birds and pale-blue and yellow flowers. It could not be sweeter.
This sale includes 22 pieces: five cups, six saucers, seven plates, one creamer, one sugar bowl and teapot and lid (two pieces). Many of the pieces are in pristine condition and look like they were never used. The rest of the set is in very good to excellent condition. The bottoms of the cups, creamer and sugar bowl are marked, \"Made in U.S.A.\"

CONDITION:Cups: There is only the most minuscule amount of paint loss on the cups, and most of the off-white handles and interiors are close to perfect. Two cups have a little rim wear, as well as a little wear on the bottom of the cups (which can only be seen when you turn them over).Saucers: One saucer is close to perfect, with just a little rim wear. The other five all have some small scratches and rim wear, and two have a couple little dings. Interestingly, the saucers are more salmon-colored than pink.Plates: Two plates are almost perfect, with only the most minor rim wear (you have to look hard to see it). The other plates have one to a few very tiny dings with very little rim wear. The last plate has a couple of dings, a few surface scratches (which can only be seen under bright light) and a tiny bit of wear. There is also what looks like an old tape mark, which can probably be removed with Goo-Gone, though I have not tried it.Creamer: There are a few tiny flecks of paint loss and some rim wear. There is also a little bit of spotting inside the cup, to the right of the handle.Sugar bowl: There are a couple of tiny flea bites on the litho and a few tiny scratches inside the cup. There is also a small amount of wear on the rim and one of the handles.Teapot and lid: There are a few tiny flea bites on the litho and some scratches on the off-white lid. There is also some paint loss on the lower, off-white portion of the pot and the spout. There is a rust mark toward the bottom of the handle. There is only a tiny bit of rust inside the pot.
