Vintage 1942 WWII Era U.S. Navy ? Seth Thomas Ships Clock Movement Only Repair
Price: US $128.49
PLEASE NOTE: THIS sale IS FOR THE MOVEMENT ONLY -- NO CASE, AND IS FOR PARTS / REPAIR.This WWII era 1942 ships clock movement with a jeweled platform escapement that was manufactured by Seth Thomas in the U.S.A. and
needs repair, as it has a broken pallet fork. This is a time only mechanical 8-day brass movement and is powered by a single mainspring.
The clock is designed for a sweep second hand and the hands post is present. The model number of this movement is \"5160\" as is stamped
on the rear plate with the Seth Thomas logo, \"MADE IN U.S.A.\" and a date stamp of \"6-42\". All the wheels are in very good condition and
turn freely. PLEASE do not wind the movement, as the pallet fork is removed. I am selling this movement \"AS IS / AS FOUND\" from a clock
repairman\'s estate. From a quick search on the Internet I read that this style of movements fits a \'Corsair\' style of clock and one site called
it a \'Wardroom\' clock. There is a slow/fast time regulator brass disc 1-5/16\" above the hands post and the winding arbor is 1-3/8\" below the
hands post, center to center. The overall dimensions of the front movement plate is 3-1/2\" high x 2-1/2\" wide. I will include the broken pallet
fork, the pallet end is intact and the other end is MISSING. The balance and hairspring appear in good condition. There is no corrosion to
the steel parts. Please look at the 10 detailed pictures for condition and what is included.I am hopeful that you can use this movement to restore a clock that is part of our U.S. Maritime History. Please ask any questions before you offer. Thank You for looking and May God Bless.
