Vintage 1950 Conn 28B Connstellation Trigger Trumpet w/ Case BEAUTIFUL
Price: US $555.50

We recently acquired the account of a local estate of apro-horn player, who has one of the most beautiful collections of instrumentsthat we’ve ever seen. He was a former student of the Eastman School of music, and as an engineer by trade, he traveled all over the country for work, andalways stopped in local shops, usually leaving with something from each one. These are some of the rarest and most unique horns you’ll ever find, and theconditions are superb. We have noticed that overall, these were meticulouslymaintained and well-cared for during their lifetime, and while most of them arein better condition than some you will find in a store showroom, we ask thatyou assume your horn technician will go over these for a top to bottominspection and setup, as many have not been played in many years. We’ve doneour best to notate what we have noticed on each one, but being that we are nothorn experts, please feel free to ask any questions you might have.

I don’t think you’ll find a more spectacular example of thishorn anywhere!

This is a beautiful Conn 28B Connstellation that needs tofind a good home. The serial number (391403) dates this to the early 50’s, Ibelieve to 1950, if our research is correct. We checked this over, and this isjust in absolutely superb condition, especially for the age! You’ll notice someVERY minor playwear, but nothing that detracts from the beauty. The lacquer hasa beautiful shine to it, and does appear to be the original, with a nice, crisp, and sharp engraving. I just can’t get over how pretty this horn is…youjust don’t get to see these this shiny! We checked the slides, and all but the2nd slide are moving nice and freely. It moves, but may need cleanedand lubricated. This corresponds with the 2nd valve as well, which, while it moves freely, once depressed about ¾ of the way down, it lightlysticks. You’ll notice in the internals are extremely clean, and we did notice aball point sized ding on the outside of this valve, as well as on thecorresponding slide. This should be an easy and standard repair for your tech,to get both moving freely again. The trigger has excellent action, and thiswill be a nice addition to any playing collection. The case is also inexcellent shape (both latches working), and will come with the original keysand mouthpiece that is not labeled.

We will have this tightly packed and fully insured for the final offer in a standard shipping box. Thanks so much for looking and good luck!
