During that Golden Age of passenger train travel, the Santa Fe\'s Super Chief

was the Premier Train connecting Chicago to Los Angeles.

Called, \"The Train of the Stars\" for its frequent Hollywood celebrity passengers, the Super Chief featured all Pullman sleeper accommodations.

And of course, the intimate and unique dining spot...with its Gourmet Meals...the famous

With seating just for 10 and only by reservation, the TR was the IN place for dining on the Chief.

This Beautiful and well preserved Turquoise Room Menu with all inserts!

Designed and printed about 1950, with the inauguration of the Turquoise Room service,

it was huge by standards of the day...reaching 14\" high and spanning 22\" wide when fully opened.

No expense was spared with its printing...

the deeply embossed cover, pressed from the inside,

highlights the many Jewels emphasizing Native American Art heritage... all

providing a very Rich and Luxurious look and feel.

These covers were reusable due to clever use of an inside menu pocket that was updated daily.

(Those two brownish vertical streaks above are from glue discoloration used to hold pocket flaps together, some 60+ years ago.)

This four page Dinner Menu for Jan. 16, 1963,

Keeping with its Premier image, the TR menus featured cover artwork by noted New Mexico resident artist, Theodore Van Soelen.

The Santa Fe purchased rights for this masterpiece, entitled, \"Deep Shadows\", originally completed in 1926.

Menu insert is also quite large, spanning 7 by 9 1/2 inches, giving you a nice size Print of, \"Deep Shadows.\"

Condition...overall, this Menu Set is very clean and bright with no rips, tears or scribbles. As can been seen in the cover photos, there\'s a very tiny crease in the upper and lower right corners. The menu insert has an soft edge crease at the bottom of the centerfold. Menu displays and would frame beautifully.
