DESCRIPTION: Here is a much used and less than perfect, completely as-found vintage 1950s Harmony baritone ukulele.
DIMENSIONS: Overall length is 29-7/8”. The lower bout measures 9-7/8” across. The uke has a scale length of 19-7/8”.
DETAILS: This old uke still has very old (most likely the original) strings on it. The body is solid mahogany and has faux tortis top binding. The saddle is still full height and the string height measures 7/64” (a bit over 3/32”) at the 12th fret. Back in the days of ukulele clubs it was common to personalize your uke so it wouldn’t get mixed up, and this one still sports its funky patriotic decorative ribbon.
CONDITION: This one is just as I found it; dusty and dirty. The neck is straight, but the fingerboard extension humps up a little over the body. It has no fret wear. There are no top cracks, but it does have an old patched doink on the side near the butt. It has a few slightly open seams where the top meets the back. The finish has overall checking. It has overall dinks, doinks, scrapes, wear, dirt, etc.
THE BOTTOM LINE: You could install a new set of strings and play it like it is, or you could get into as much repair as you desire. SHIPPING DETAILS:
