(S.H.) of Japan (known primarily for their battery powered tin robot toys).Following the successful Mercury program, the Gemini program wouldrun from 1961 to 1966 with a two man crew fro 12 missions (2 unmanned and 10 manned missions) pioneering the way for the eventual Apollo moon landings with such feats as the Extra Vehicular Activity (EVA) or \"Space Walk\" outside the capsuleon Gemini IV and the docking mission conducted byGemini VI and VIIleading up to the three man Apollo missions. Capitalizing on the \"Space Race\" craze of the mid-1960\'s, this friction powered Gemini Space Capsule is made of printed tin with a clear plastic windshield showing the cockpit, an astronaut who slowly revolves around the capsule when pushed and a red plastic rocket engine on the back with sparker (no longer working). This toy space ship is in excellent condition with some minor dings and scratches from past missions.
