The typewriter is in very good condition; the case is in fair to good condition.
The casehasno open or cracked joints, but there are a couple cracks in the lid that goes completely through (one runs across nearly the entire length of the case). The latch is missing pieces (totally gone on one side, top half gone on other side) so the case will not lock shut. The hinges are solid and secure and the lid is not loose. The inside has some staining but is otherwise in good condition. There is a paper taped to the inside of the lid that gives details about the typewriter (see photos). A previous owner carved their nameand address into the inside of the lid. There is also a date written: 10-27-96.
The typewriter seems to be in good working order. The inking pad still has some ink on it, but it does not transfer to paper very legibly. The carriage moves back and forth easily when the release bar behind it is pressed in. The typewriter has a scientific keyboard. None of the keys are sticky or bent. The space bar has some pitting and wear; it folds up and down easily.
There is light scratching and a few small areas of pitting on the unpainted metal; the black paint is only slightly chipping/worn on the edges. The plaque beneath the inking pad is securely attached and says \"No 5. Blickensderfer, Stamford, Conn. U.S.A.\" \"Patented\" is also stamped into the metal piece that the keys are attached to. \"11260\" is stamped on a metal plaque on the back of the typewriter, behind the carriage.
Although this typewriter is currently working, we cannot guarantee that it will continue to work once it has reached its final destination.This item does not include a working guarantee. Some adjustments will often be needed after you receive the item, since packing and shipping will sometimes affect the moving parts. Please call or email us and we will try to assist you if this happens, but we are not responsible for these adjustments.

All items may be picked up locally.
Combined shipping is done at the sellers discretion. If you purchase more than one item, you may be billed for seperate packaging. We always use the most inexpensive method as long as the item can be shipped SAFELY.
We use UPS Ground and USPS Priority as our main carriers. To request an alternate shipping method, please contact us via email or telephone (410) 732-2778 after your invoice has been sent and we will requote the invoice.
Insurancecost is included in all UPS ground shipping fees. If you areunsure of your calculated shipping cost on a large item, please email or call us for an accurate quote before offerding.
Priority packages are usually shipped within 48-72 hours of cleared payment receipt (excluding Saturday/Sunday).
While it is our good intention to ship items within3 business days of receipt of good payment, there may sometimes be delays due to volume of sold items, weather, holidays or other circumstances beyond our control.
