Drop forged over 100 years ago from virgin steel (NOT recycled steel like is used today) at the Sabatier factory in Thiers France This piece is a real find. It was located in a warehouse owned by a gentleman who used to own Sabatier.
The blade measures 5 X 1 2/16 inches and is not marked. The overall length of this knife blank is 7 inches. Total weight is 2 3/8 oz. The blade is straight with a Nogent (Rat Tail) tang. This blank is virgin forged and has not been ground or worked in any way other than at some stage a starting edge was ground on these.
