BACHornDoctor sale  Vintage Elkhart Conn 6H Trombone ~ B.A.C. Custom Modified Vintage  ~ Fully Restored ~ Custom Finish ~ Originally Manufactured in 1955 ~ AMAZING PLAYER!!

Description:  Up for sale is a phenomenal piece of equipment that represents everything you could want in a small bore trombone. This vintage instrument was originally manufactured by C.G. Conn in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1955. It recently was restored by B.A.C. Horn Doctor in Olathe, KS and customized using parts from B.A.C. Custom Musical Instruments in Kansas City. If you are not familiar with the Conn 6H trombone, you should take a moment to research the history behind the model. This was a flagship small bore trombone for decades, preferred by many Big Band musicians and Jazzmen at the time. In fact, the Conn 6H is one of the most used pro level small trombones ever produced. Widely regarded for the model\'s big dark sound, while maintaining wonderful flexibility and accuracy, this instrument was the choice instrument for trombonist like Frank Rosolino.  As you will see in the images, this instrument is stunning to look at. While restoring the instrument, we performed some enhancements to the design of the instrument. Beyond our signature bell interior treatment, and the B.A.C. Loop counterweight, the neckpipe used is a B.A.C. Custom \'S\' neckpipe. This is the same pipe used on Jim Pugh\'s B.A.C. Custom Classic model. The taper starts a touch smaller, and flares a slight bit faster then the original Conn. Combined with the fact the pipe is solid nickel silver, this set up provides a very open feel, with superb flexibility and resonance. This feature really balances well with the light weight yellow brass bell, and the gold brass handslide. To help maintain a buttery 6H feel, and preserve the chocolate overtones, we changed the handslide crook for a B.A.C. Custom yellow brass crook. This instrument slots very well, and has an incredibly complex sound with lots of color.  Now is your opportunity to take home a truly stunning instrument, in every respect. A superb vintage instrument produced by one of the finest production musical instrument companies of all time, during the Golden Age of musical instrument manufacturing. Refreshed and revisited, by some of the most current Custom shops in the world. Don\'t miss out!! A fully overhauled  B.A.C. Custom Modified horn typically retails for around $2695+. This is being offered with an incredibly low reserve price!! Good luck and happy offerding!! ;o) What Conn said in 1955: Used and preferred by many of the nation\'s top professionals in TV and radio, this fine trombone has a specially designed modified large straight bore that\'s ideal for all types of playing. Has famous \"Airfloat\" slides with long slide bearing for fast, positive action and smoother 6th or 7th positions. Outside slide is of special Conn bearing formula brass alloy. Length 46\"; weight 3 pounds 8 ounces; bell diameter 8\". With mouthpiece and music lyre, in handsome Stratoliner case. Highly polished brass, nickel trim, clear lacquered. Here is a video of Frank Rosolino Playing his Conn 6H. (we will try to add a video of the horn you are offerding on being played!)

A special message from our founder and President:

Thank you so much for taking the time to view our sale. My staff and I take great pride in what we do. Over the years this industry has changed drastically. Mom and Pop shops are nearly a thing of the past, and with that our industry bleeds. We are striving to preserve the character of a true American pastime. I started my shop in the basement of my house back in 2004 with a vision that no matter what the odds, I would be able to provide musicians and families around the world with the same care and attention that seems to be disappearing. There is no reason that because you are purchasing an item on the internet that the store you are working with shouldn\'t treat you with the same respect as if you live in our neighborhood and walked in our door. I am proud to say that my staff also believes in offering a positive one on one experience. We are blessed to have grown into the company we are today. We proudly employ 8 employees that are all passionate about what they do. It is important for you to know that each and every customer we deal with is very important to keeping my dream a reality. We are here to help and offer our expertise to make your experience the best we possibly can. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask us!! We take great pride in our positive response on and strive to continue the experiences we\'ve shared with past customers with you! If you know anyone interested in purchasing musical equipment, or are in need of repair service, we hope you might consider helping to spread the word about what we do. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Michael T. Corrigan President B.A.C. Horn Doctor Inc.
