This is a very old drake pintail that was probably made in the late 1800\'s or early 1900\'s. It has the style and feel that it may have been used on the St. Claire Flats. The decoy was purchased years agoat an estate sale in theDetroit area. The maker is unknown but I suspect either Ontario or Michigan. It is in all original paint. The decoyis solid. A bottom board was added at a later date. There are a few areas where the paint on the bottom board is carried over to the decoy body where the two are joined. There is precise comb painting on the back. It has tack eyes. Collectors have suggested removing the bottom board to see if there are any brands. No repairs that I can detect.
