This charming children's tea set, fromGermany, has many delightful qualities, but it does have some seriousflaws, so please be aware that it is being sold “AS IS”. I willtell you about the sad and bad parts, so we can end this tale with ahappily ever after. The teapot has a long hairline crack down thefront of it, and it has a piece missing from its spout (see the photowith the red pencil pointing to the damage). Surprisingly, the teastill pours out from it, well. Also, the sugar bowl has a ½ inchlong chip off of the lip (see the photo), and there is a “fleabite” chip on the bottom of the creamer. Now for the sweet stuff.

This old tea set has the most adorablefairytale characters pictured on its pieces. On one cup, a gnome,with a beard past his knees and a pointed, blue cap, has a daisyflung over his shoulder and behind him, there is a tiny boy, who iswearing a crown, sitting in a basket of leaves. On the other cup, afemale gnome, or witch, who wears a red pointed hat, that isdecorated with colorful ribbons, a full, purple skirt, a green top,with a flower-petalled collar and checkered shoes, stands with acane, and holds a rings with skeleton keys; there is an orange tabbycat and a big beaked crow at her feet. On the creamer, a gnome in apurple cap and striped pants is sitting on a mushroom, and looking ata crowned crow who holds a gold ring in his beak. On the sugarbowl, a large-nosed man, dressed in blue, with a ruffled collar,long, orange, pointed shoes, and a green, wide-brimmed hat, with awith a tulip tucked into its band, walks with a cane; a crowned,white goose is at his side. The teapot has two of the scenesmentioned above, the “witch”, and the gnome on the mushroom. These vintage pieces are made of porcelain, that have been detailedwith gold, and their bottoms are marked with “Germany” in a redcircle. This 7 piece vintage tea set, wants to have a party withyour imagination.
